The City of Silver Grove is establishing a conservation area with trails on the property we own off of Uhl Road along Fourmile Creek. These trails are open to the public for non-motorized uses.
We have received grant funding from Duke Energy to improve the trails, and plan to start this project in the spring of 2022. Residents of Silver Grove will also benefit from setting aside this area as a conservation area since it will increase our Community Rating System Points with FEMA, and help to lower our flood insurance rates.
We had to do this because ATVs and other motorized vehicles have done considerable damage to the trails. Including ruts, damage to the stream bank, cutting down trees, and moving earth to create obstacles. To see examples of the damage view the photos in the photo gallery below.
