The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently updated the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to include a new flood insurance pricing methodology called Risk Rating 2.0.

Since the 1970s, flood insurance policies in Campbell County have been based predominantly on a property’s elevation within the flood zone. The new rating methodology addresses more variables such as the age of the home and its proximity to the water source (river, coast, etc.) as well as its elevation. The result is that for policies evaluated after October 1, 2021, we are seeing lower premiums for Campbell County. We encourage you to reach out to your insurance carrier to reevaluate your policy using the Risk Rating 2.0 methodology
